The Friday Five! On a SUNDAY! :)

I fixed some grammatical errors in the original. I couldn't bear it.

1) What was the first Shakespeare play you read or saw performed?
I believe it was probably Romeo & Juliet, which was required reading for one of my high school English classes.

2) What is your favorite Shakespeare play?
I'm really fond of Twelfth Night and Much Ado About Nothing.

3) What is your least favorite Shakespeare play?
Hamlet or Romeo & Juliet. Both are so highly overrated. I vastly prefer the comedies over "Life sucks, misunderstandings abound, and then everyone dies in a tragic and untimely fashion."

4) Who do you think wrote Shakespeare; are you a Stratfordian or Oxfordian?
I do not know what this means. I am a casual Shakespeare fan. ;) I assume it refers to some question of authorship; whether it was William Shakespeare or someone else who authored the works. (Just looked it up; that's exactly it. I have no opinion one way or the other!)

5) Which Shakespeare plays have you read or seen or seen performed?
Come to think of it, I don't believe I've ever seen a live Shakespeare performance. Closest I've come are the movies made wherein they use the original language; Much Ado About Nothing with Emma Thompson is a favorite, and I also like the Midsummer Night's Dream with Christian Bale. Romeo+Juliet with Claire Danes & Leonardo diCaprio is definitely the first movie I saw like that; I'm not sure I can say I liked it, but it is certainly a gorgeous film to watch. "Spectacle" is the word that comes to mind!
