1) After 4 days of inactivity, my old watch suddenly decided to start working again \o/ Almost a miracle ^_~ I’ll still turn it in with a watchmaker to give it a full check-up but i’m happy I can use it until then. EDIT it’s going on and off again ^^’ The goid thing is that I can now borrow a watch while I wait for it to be fixed

I keep forgetting to post about this: we've been troubleshooting the "missing notifications" problem for the past few days. (Well, I say "we", really I mean Mark and Robby; I'm just the amanuensis.) It's been one of those annoying loops of "find a logical explanation for what could be causing the problem, fix that thing, observe that the problem gets better for some people but doesn't go away completely, go back to step one and start again", sigh.

Mark is hauling out the heavy debugging ordinance to try to find the root cause. Once he's done building all the extra logging tools he needs, he'll comment to this entry. After he does, if you find a comment that should have gone to your inbox and sent an email notification but didn't, leave him a link to the comment that should have sent the notification, as long as the comment itself was made after Mark says he's collecting them. (I'd wait and post this after he gets the debug code in but I need to go to sleep and he's not sure how long it will take!)

We're sorry about the hassle! Irregular/sporadic issues like this are really hard to troubleshoot because it's impossible to know if they're fixed or if they're just not happening while you're looking. With luck, this will give us enough information to figure out the root cause for real this time.

moodthemeinayear, the second Medium Track run has just started.

For those not familiar with the schedule over there, the Medium Mood Track lasts about three months, and covers all of the higher-level moods: The fifteen absolute minimum moods you need for a complete custom mood theme, and the next nineteen that have moods that branch off of them (plus two extra). If you want to create a custom mood theme that's fairly well filled out but don't want to go for the whole 132 graphics, the Medium Track may be for you!

If you want to try and min-max your mood theme, on the other hand, the Minimum Track has also restarted; it lasts six weeks, and takes you through the bare minimum fifteen moods you need for a complete custom mood theme, plus the next three most populous higher-level moods, so you get the most image diversity for the least amount of work 👍

We're coming to the time of year when

goodbyebird posted an interest check post in the community to see if folks were interested in doing it and what their plans might be for it.

I will be posting an updated list of my community recs post. The last time I posted it was in January for

snowflake_challenge, but I've stealth added a few more since then. I'm ALWAYS on the lookout for good communities, so if you know of any and want to see it added to the list, let me know!

I also am giving some thoughts to posting daily during the duration, but I'd need something to post about. I'm considering the following:

1. one creative thing I did today
2. one thing I'm proud of today
3. video game progress? I play video games daily, so that would be something easy I could do

It's the time of night when I turn into a sack of goo, so I have no brain for anything else at the moment. Guess I'd better brush my teeth and go to bed.

My current joy is Final Fantasy XI. I'm working on my former main character (who I want to make main again eventually) so I got some good gear for her, and started farming telepoints and Survival Guides, both of which make it a lot easier and quicker to get around the world.

I have plans to do Rhapsodies of Vana'diel on her, and if I'm doing *that* then I might as well work on documenting it for my Neocities site. I went back through my logs to find the ones for previous Rhapsodies missions, but I must've played some without using Windower (the third party tool that captures the logs for me, along with doing other neat things). This means I don't have the cutscenes for some of the early missions. What to do? Why, play them on another character!

So I reactivated Valara, my Tarutaru alt. She's adorable! But I forgot that she was pretty much just a mule - her highest job is Red Mage at level 30, and she hasn't unlocked subjobs yet (which you can do at level 18, oops). That's fine, I don't mind playing on her a bit to get her up to scratch.

I also figured that if I'm doing Rhapsodies on her, I should do the Rank 1-5 missions. I've already got Bastok missions documented, and I streamed San d'Oria missions, which leaves Windurst. So I set about last night moving her from Bastok to Windurst. I had to teleport to her home point in Jeuno and then rent a chocobo to ride there. It occurred to me I should have done the raptor mount quest, but too late now - I'll do it later.

Finally made it to Windurst, went to Walls to change my allegiance - nope, wouldn't allow me to do so because I'm on a Bastok mission currently. Oops? At least the Bastok mission takes you to Windurst. I'll knock that out and then switch allegiances.

But that was all I did last night because I was tired from family time. Still, I had fun! Looking forward to more messing around on alts and mains.

Someone at Stitch Club today (who I think was a visitor? not sure, but I got the impression it wasn't one of the regulars) brought yarn to destash. GOOD yarn. EXPENSIVE yarn. I have a bunch of new yummies!

1 skein Neighborhood Fiber Co. Studio DK (275 yards / 4 oz, 100% Superwash Merino) in color Park Heights

1 skein Misti Alpaca Hand Paint Chunky (108 yards / 100 grams, 100% Baby Alpaca) in color CP21 Winter Queen

1 skein Plymouth Yarn Baby Alpaca Grande (110 yards / 100 grams, 100% Baby Alpaca) in color 403 (a deep gray, almost black)

2 skeins Shibui Knits Maai (DK, 175 yards / 50 grams each, 70% Superbaby Alpaca / 30% Fine Merino) in color Cove (a deep green)

3 skeins Blue Sky Fibers Eco Cashmere DK (164 yards / 50 grams, 50% Recycled Cashmere / 50% Virgin Cashmere) in color Gold Rush. CASHMERE!! (a goldish yellow)

1 skein Julie Asselin hand dyed yarns Fino (400 yards / 115g or 4oz, 75% Merino / 15% Cashmere / 10% Silk) in color Olea (hard to tell the color at night, but I'd say it's a yellowish olive)

Some of the colors aren't ones I would gravitate to, but the fiber content was too good to pass up. And the yarns that had prices on them? were $18-$26 a skein. It is RARE that I can splurge for yarn that expensive! Normally I just use big box acrylics. So I'm, like, drooling some now, lol.

If you wanna see photos, I'll get them during daylight tomorrow. Too dark now.

I was pleased to get some more Misti Alpaca. I have a hat/cowl made out of that yarn that I really, really like. I haven't been wearing them this winter because my new coat is green and the hat/cowl are predominately red, and I didn't want to look like a Christmas tree. The color of this one is creamy white, which would look good with the coat, so probably a new hat?

Man, am I gonna have fun looking for patterns!
