Frivolous Makeup Post--GO!

e.l.f. recently had an online sale. They do this a lot, and really, it seems totally silly to wait for a sale because LOOK AT THE PRICES ANYWAY. Seriously, though, I got this entire haul for half-price. That means $1.50 per piece in most cases.

Haul from recent e.l.f. sale
There are 2 things I didn't really review in depth: the Praline matte lipstick (I love & highly recommend this lipstick; already have it in almost every other color) and the mist & set, which is also a staple of mine. Everything else here is a new try, so I wanted to call them out specifically.

e.l.f. lip balm tints in "Grapefruit" & "Peach"
Very smooth, not sticky. The color is sheer but vivid, which is exactly what I was hoping for in these. There's a slight vanilla flavor. I have yet to decide if that's off-putting; it depends on how long it lingers for.

e.l.f. baked blushes in "Peachy Cheeky" & "Pinktastic"
Have yet to try these. Both were true to color on the website, and as I'm a VERY pale lady, these are the lightest colors in the blush lineup. I swear by e.l.f.'s Candid Coral blush, & these looked similar. We shall see.

e.l.f. tone correcter in "Shimmer"
Along with "Gotta Glow," this is my favorite of my order thus far. I have the tone corrector in translucent (pink, green, blue, yellow combination), but I thought this would make a good subtle highlighter. I was absolutely correct. This is GORGEOUS. I might use this as a sheer wash on my eyes for days I want to do eyeliner-only looks.

e.l.f. blush in "Gotta Glow"
This is a REALLY neat "blush". It's obviously a highlighter, actually, and it's an EXTREMELY close dupe of NARS Albatross. In fact, I would venture to say they're exact, except that I don't have Albatross on hand to compare. I will say, however, that since this is $3 and Albatross is $30, it may well be a perfectly acceptable dupe for someone who can't drop $30 on a highlighter. Poor folks like makeup too, y'all!

e.l.f. Bronzer in "Cool"
This is interesting. The golden bronzer is shimmer, but the cool one is not. This is matte. It didn't look NEARLY this dark on the website. That said, a matte bronzer could be useful, since I like to shade my jawline just below my ear. A few experiments will tell me if this is too dark to be used.

e.l.f. Studio pressed powder in "Porcelain"
This color is "porcelain", the lightest shade they have. It is far too yellow for me to use as "normal" powder. I might be able to shade a bit with it.
