The Borg Assimilates Eureka Springs
So in late March, I went to Eureka Springs with
asqmh &
thejessone, and it was pretty much the ultimate blast. Here are pictures of the town in which I will someday live!

From the top of Basin Spring Park.

Our friend
moogintroll went with us!

Our hotel was furnished with furniture that your grandma had in the 80s...that she'd already had since the 60s. But it was comfortable, air conditioned, owned by super nice people, had wifi, & was a 2 room suite (2 queens & a king) for a very good price. I AIN'T GONNA COMPLAIN. In fact, I'd stay there again!

moogintroll was very fond of the local wine.

G'night, Moog.

When in Rome...
moogintroll decided to try some coffee on his hangover.

He found it a bit strong.

Oh dear. That WAS a lot of caffeine per body weight.

This was the Pancake Place, the cute little diner across the road from our hotel.

Moog liked this sign.

Oh look! We found a definition of Moog!

I added to my Fiestaware collection.

Blue glass.

Cute green & black outfit.

Moog is considering a new hair color as a fashion statement.

Found a super cute flower for my hair! This has started another collection.

A view from our hotel porch.

This house overlooks Basin Spring Park.

All the buildings are very old & have been restored very lovingly.

The park.

Sitting in the park looking up over the band stage.

Someone is working on a mosaic style statue overlooking the park. It's pretty now, but it will be GORGEOUS when it's finished.

Closer look at the statue.

At the top of Basin Spring Park, behind the band shell.

I'm not sure what was up with this little owl, but we saw it spray painted in many places throughout the town.

Behind the band shell.

Looking down on the Park from the north upper side.

Moog was happy to find a restaurant that appeared to know of the existence of tea. Bonus points for knowing there are different types! ^o^

The interior of the aforementioned tea-acknowledging restaurant, Mud Street Cafe. It was below street level in the basement of a building, beneath Romancing the Stone if I'm not mistaken. It was SUPER delicious. I never want to eat at the same place twice on vacation...and we ate here 3 times!

Not only do they acknowledge Moog's tea, they espouse my views on coffee.

The bar. Coffee, tea, &/or booze. EVERYTHING YOU NEED.

Sofie, the owner of the hotel.

The addition to my Fiesta collection.

Moog enjoyed the shade in the park.

This bench was apparently made from a tree that had stood in this park for a very long time, until it fell or had to be removed for safety's sake (I couldn't quite tell which). But anyway, they made a bench for the park out of it. I kinda like that.

There was a glowstick party one night we were in town. Here's Moog, enjoying the rave!

The glowstick party DJ & some kids.

BORG GLOWSTICKS. We are the Borg of Fabulous, clearly. Please note
thejessone's super cute shirt from Romancing the Stone.

Moog is really getting into the glowstick party.

We went to the Voulez Vous Lounge for drinks & snacks after the glowstick party. I got several shots of the interior because it just looked so COOL. If I'm ever a major villainess, this is my lair.

Q & Jess in the back!

Self-portrait in the mirror.

Some people party their asses off. Moog took it a step further & partied his legs straight off!

The Voulez Vous solidified its place in our hearts by having a fat, fabulous glittery mermaid mascot.

We did, in fact, go here. I got tequila. WOOOO.

He & his partner were from Dallas, and I loved this shirt so much I had to have a picture of it. It's TRUE of Dallas.

Worst hangover EVER, Moog.
The following pics are what it looks like when you drive from Eureka Springs to Fort Smith.

In other words, STUNNING.

The courthouse.

The couch spot at Mud Street.

Fair enough.

When I live in Eureka, I shall eat Mud Street Cafe muffins EVERY DAY. The first day I had a dark chocolate/cherry/walnut one, and this one was blackberry cream cheese. I have never had a better muffin, and if I ever do, it will probably cause spontaneous orgasms. (Check out my gorgeous $1 fan beside it!)

Pedestrian bridge over Spring Street (or Center street?)

She was selling cute drawings for $1, and her parents were singing. They played a Fiona Apple song, "Sleep to Dream" and I sang! That was a lot of fun. I tipped them $5 and bought a picture. ^_^

This is the most iconic shot you can take of Eureka Springs. It was my cover photo on Path up until Wakarusa.

So many paths & stairways & tiny adventures in Eureka Springs.

The man who painted these chairs had lots of prints & art for sale. We watched them for him while he moved his truck so he didn't get a ticket, and then when I bought a print (a REALLY colorful, comic-book inspired painting of an oak leaf) he gave me $5 off for watching his stuff!

Driving home on Highway 23 is the most beautiful drive ever.
