What is this, Lent?!
Nov. 1st, 2010 12:29 pmBryan & I have done an interesting thing. We had 2 Internet services (long story), & last night we unplugged both. This morning I called & canceled both. We are now running on iPhone Internet only until we move into the new house, which could take as long as a month.
It isn't only because we want to avoid unnecessary bills. A lot of it is about distraction; we think we'll get more packing & organizing done this way. Another part of it is just curiosity: to see how we get by. I'm not one of those people who thinks it's horrible to spend so much time behind a screen, & I don't usually participate in those "day without internet" things. This is just an experiment, more or less. Just to see how I adapt. Bryan is much more passive about the Internet; for him it will mean no blog reading, forum lurking, things like that. I'm much more interactive on the net, & it helps keep me from feeling isolated, especially living here on the farm. It'll be interesting to see what I do & how I react.
I bet it mostly just improves my typing speed & accuracy on the iPhone--what do you bet? :D
